The J. Marion Sims Foundation believes in partnering with the communities of Lancaster, Fort Lawn and Great Falls to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of our citizens.

Honesty, forthrightness, and integrity should guide the work of the Foundation and our partners.

We believe in creating excellence in collaboration with the community and that empathy and compassion are guiding pillars of philanthropy.

Exercising and supporting creativity in ourselves and our partners is critical as we hold ourselves accountable for servant leadership within the community.

We believe that a sense of urgency is necessary to create lasting solutions and lifelong learning as a community value as we respect the needs and traditions of our citizens.

This year, for the first time in its 20-year history, the J. Marion Sims Foundation has hired interns to help further its cause and to get in touch with the young adults in its giving area. What started as an idea and 19 applications has turned into six real life college students who are very excited to be here, and that is where this blog comes in.

Throughout the summer, each intern will write at least one blog post. These posts can be about anything really, but will include a list of questions about their life, interests and hobbies, as well as what they now think about the foundation and what work they are getting done here. The goal of The Simterns is to provide a sort of job description for future applicants, as well as serving as a portal through which members of the community can see the many different things happening in our office on any given day, and can read about the many ways in which the foundation is trying to better our community.

So follow along and get excited, because things are about to get a lot more lively at the Foundation.
